Prayer for the Dying

“The best read I’ve had in years.”

“Captured me totally, I had to read on.”

"I've waited for over a year to read this sequel to Killing me Softly and now I have my hands on it I realise the meaning of the saying :'Be careful what you wish for' UGHHH.. This is really delving onto the taboo. I don't know who is the most terrifying character - Tony Clifton or his mother! If I lived in Birmingham I'd be scared to go out at night. If I were a woman I'd be very scared. I heard Miss Revill being interviewed on Radio Two recently and . .well. . . she sounds so rational! How can a rational mind ever have invented such a creepy killer as Tony Clifton - and his religion-obsessed and incestuous mother . . ohhh GOD!
I dare anyone to read it."

God only Knows

"This final part of the Killing Me Softly Trilogy is explosive and had me on the edge of my seat a real page turner and yes, I really do want more. Miss Revill has left the ending in such a way that there could be another in the series although all the hateful characters are sewn up tight and there are no loose ends regarding the horrific murders in Birmingham. Her descriptions make the reader feel as if they are there - a fly on the wall - watching and listening as the gruesome tale unfolds. Please let's have another!"

Whispers on the Wind

"Whispers on the Wind is the kind of book you want to put down because it hurts to read but you can't because it's so captivating you HAVE to find out what happens in the end!
Carrie's journey seems so hard and so long that you want to save her from the pain, but what is so remarkable is she saves herself and just grows and grows. This story is a wonderful blossoming of a girl into womanhood. It is full of exciting characters who fill you full of the voices of the Welsh valleys. It's not always an easy read, but the rewards are great and the voices stay with you for days after you finish the final page, always a good sign. I can't wait for the next one."

Shadows on the Moon

"Thrilled to read the on going saga of this family, this story causes lack of sleep, could not put the book down and leave a chapter for the next day, ended up reading to the early hours of the morning. Bought back special memories of my nurse training years ago and anyone who read Whispers on the wind would be compelled to read this continuing story, fantastic, would be a great series or film."

Rainbows in the Clouds

"The first, Whispers in the Wind, the story of a young Carrie, born and bred on a Welsh farm, and growing into a fine young lady before the onset of world war II There were hard times of course especially without her Mother who had died in childbirth. Carrie had to cope with helping to manage the house and farm, and looking after a father and an unusually possessive older brother. It was a busy place, with regular visits from friends and relatives some of whom have very interesting lives themselves, all interwoven with each other. Trickery and deceit lurk in the shadows and disaster strikes when the family discover that the home they love has been sold to a stranger. Tensions and heartbreak abound, and yet Carrie never lost her desire to study in the hopes of becoming a nurse and spreading her wings beyond the Borders of Wales.
The second book Shadows on the Moon is about Carrie's adventures in the big City, keeping in constant touch with home, her old friends and making many new ones. Romance blooms with the most unexpected person, but being a lively hard working young girl is forced to keep the call of love at arms length. The whole story so far quite addictive, and the outbreak of war gave plenty of scope for excitement and scares. All Miss Revill’s characters get scattered across the country or the world, and our author twists and turns through the experiences of them all, keeping the whole story flowing beautifully and making each one important to the reader.
I have just read the third in the trilogy, Rainbows in the Clouds, and loved it. Articulately written, it was a story of bravery and dedication. Of love, and of friendships . It went at a gripping pace and not a single lapse of the excitement. The descriptive effects of the bombings in London, and the contrasting peace of home in Wales was terrific. It was like being there yourself. The details in every aspect were amazing. I am glad they have been written down. They are important details depicting life on the ground that really needs to be remembered. The story is compulsive to the very end. It was VERY good reading.
Finally…this story is a bit different. The characters are like real people in that period of time, focusing of the various activities of each in their different ways. In my opinion it would make a LOVELY period drama for a tv series."

The third in the Llewellyn family saga, Ms Revill’s Rainbows in the Clouds does not fail to please. I have read the first two, so was eager to snap this one up for review.
Our heroine, Welsh-born, Carrie, has her life is turned upside down when the London Chest Hospital falls victim to the Blitz, and in consequence, the love she has found with Michael is under threat, and then she is drawn into the conflict in Europe, torn away from home and her family. Add into this the trauma of war and the daily endurance of surviving it, Carrie and the people of her small community in the Welsh valleys, have a sociopathic man to find and an outbreak of diphtheria to tackle – and that is just one part of this enthralling narrative!
From war torn London to the Welsh Valleys and occupied France – via the Far East, the characters grip you from the first page, drawing you into their world through page after breath-taking page.
Rainbows In The Clouds is a story of bravery, endurance, and dedication. A story of life during the war years, with the traumas, heartbreaks, horrors and fears – but also of love and friendship. Superbly written – the description of the Blitz in London took you right there. The story is compulsive from the first page to the very end.
Nicely produced throughout, I especially liked the attractive cover, my only nit-pick comment: maybe the number in the sequence of this saga could be made clearer on the cover? New readers to the series might find it hard to know where this one sits. Great stuff.

Against the Tide

"Smugglers, heroes, women in trouble, mysterious murderers, heartache and loss. No one delivers more satisfaction than Elizabeth Revill in her books and this one is no exception. Nathaniel is a man with a mission, to avenge his father's death, and so he joins the Riders to stop the smugglers on the south Welsh coast. He is shunned by all but a brave few and one of those who helps him is a beautiful, but scarred young woman. Swords and pistols, danger and heroism ensue at a ripping pace. You can almost feel the wind and rain beat at you as Nathaniel rides to protect the people and stop the smugglers. A great story."

The Electra Conspiracy

"This is a great story. It takes an interesting event and really does ask 'what if?' The characters are all vivid and the action fast and strangely compelling. It really is all too probable and I think all too believable. If you want to know 'what if' then this is the book for you. If you enjoy a good thriller - this is definitely the book for you. And if you love a great book - you won't be disappointed."

Sanjukta and the Box of Souls

Cornelius Phipps is a man caught in a web of despair.
Utkena is a demon seeking vengeance.
Sanjukta is a woman striving for justice.
The moment she is born during a terrible storm, which also sees the death of her mother, Sanjukta’s destiny is sealed. Half Native American Indian, she is given the gifts necessary to fight an evil created by the Nations but used by the white man.
Her life becomes a battlefield; both in the Courthouse, where she fights for the rights of her people, becoming a renowned lawyer, and in the spirit plane. Here, in this truly dangerous place, she must find the strength to survive heartbreak and evil. With cunning, bravery and the knowledge that true love must find a way to survive in a dark world, she faces her demons.
Sanjukta and the Box of Souls draws on the ancient Native American traditions while combining them with the glass and steel world of lawyers and money men. Through Sanjukta’s eyes we see these two worlds collide and fight for supremacy. Can she find her destiny and have her true love? Can she save her people without turning her back on her life away from her homelands? Will she unite both sides so humanity can save itself from the darkness?
This is a journey of courage, heart and spirit and most of all friendship.

The Forsaken and the Damned
A poignant heart-rending tale demonstrating that the power and passion of true love can conquer extreme adversity.
A harrowing birth in the fields to a peasant woman working in the fields of repressive 1920's China sees her discarded female child, Mai Lee, incarcerated in a brutal orphanage, until as a young adolescent she is transported to work in the brothels of Singapore. There she is befriended and loved by Yuan, and a rich benefactor who plan to help her escape to a better life. However the city lies in subjugation to the detested Japanese who single out beautiful Mai Lee to become their sex slave.
We are captured by Mai Lee's indomitable spirit as she fights to retain her purity and individuality in an enclosing world of wickedness and misery. Our emotions are frayed as we wonder whether she will gain her freedom and the love that awaits her or will she be dragged further into the depths of despair.

Thunder in the Sun BY ELIZABETH REVILL
Find & buy on Amazon
Thunder in the Sun is the fourth in the Llewellyn Family Saga, featuring Carrie in a new role of District Nurse.
Discovering that there is more to handle than patients and their minor ailments she must find temporary homes in her quiet Welsh Valley for a group of London Blitz evacuates – and then sort out some of the horrors of the consequences. Not all of the children were lucky enough to be cared for in a loving environment. From near-slavery to rape, Carrie must cope with these traumas while also dealing with the Land Girls who cause havoc, and her own tragedies of War which affect herself, her friend Megan, and her own brother John and his wife, Jenny. Fate tosses in another blow when her fiancé, Michael Lawrence, goes back to war and Carrie must find the strength to keep going.
I am not a great fan of World War II novels – but I enjoyed this one. It throws a different perspective on the ordinary, every-day life of people enduring the hardship of war, in particular dispelling the myth of ‘everyone pulling together’ and ‘making the best of it’. The war years were tough, hard, and often cruel and brutal – and I’m not talking about soldiers on the front line or in war camps! The ‘folk back home’ also had to somehow survive!
Even though I had not read any of the previous books, I immediately became engrossed with the characters and narrative. If this one is anything to go by the entire series is an enthralling family saga well worth reading!

Second edition of THE ELECTRA CONSPIRACY
Latest review on Amazon.com
'First off the blurb they try to entice you with did not do this book justice. I did not put this book down since receiving it. I was hooked from the first word.
Electra is a pop star using her popularity to try and bring change to the world but the Mysterious people at the top don't like it. I kept turning the pages because I had to know what was going to happen! I was so drawn into this book my lunch burned and my dinner went stale because my focus was on the book!
I'm praying this isn't the end! I want more!! I literally want to hear more about the rest of the characters. I also might want to research real life conspiracies..... Then again I'm good with that in case there is a mysterious group trying to control everything.'

The 5th book in the DCI Allison series: WINDOWS FOR THE DEAD
Amazon review:
This series has had me gripped from the start and I know that there will be more, she always carries on from where the previous book ends.
How she manages to keep all these threads going I do not know. In this book, in particular, some of the elements are so currently topical they have been proven to be frighteningly prophetic, maybe she's psychic, but the explosive end to this one delves into many dark and taboo areas the suspense is almost screaming from the pages. I can't wait for the next.
Review:
Elizabeth has picked up some of the loose ends from book four but has interwoven them with a whole lot of new plots spanning a wide variety of topics including murder, racial hatred, incest, kidnapping slavery and even going back to Nazi interment, somehow she even manages to bring the threads together and at the same time leave enough to give us something for another book. If her chief Inspector Allison was to be filmed he would fill the space left by Morse, Lewis, and Wexford and the part of the chameleon would be a dream for a fit young actor. Please read this series of books so entertaining .
THE DREAMTIME OF THE ARTFUL DODGER - WRITTEN WITH NORMAN ESHLEY
Have you ever wondered what happened to the Artful Dodger at the end of Oliver Twist?
Well now is your chance to find out...
Adapted from Norman's screenplay this tells the tale of what happened to Jack Dawkins after Fagin's gang of child pickpockets has been disbanded and Fagin is waiting for his execution in Newgate prison. Jack is in the same prison awaiting transportation to Australia. His crime? Theft of a silver snuffbox. What happens to him is the story of a young man trying his best to survive in the harshest of worlds. How does he fare?
It is not for nothing he is called the Artful Dodger.
When I read Norman's screenplay I was excited by the concept and Norman allowed me free rein to develop new characters and subplots, which help to make it a real adventure, which involves, murder, kidnap and revenge. I wrote each chapter and sent it to Norman for approval and we were very much in tune with the way the story developed.
